Sell Your Home

How Will You Select A Real Estate Agent To Sell Your Home?

Would you like to know the best way to select the right real estate agent for your needs?   Don’t you want to  receive the the best results from that agent?  Then the following information is for you.  Moreover, if you think all agents are pretty much the same then please read on because this information is for you too.

I have 5 Do’s and Don’ts to selecting your real estate agent.  Let me say this, first ask if they are a Realtor.  A Realtor is a real estate licensee that belongs to The National Assoc. of Realtors and a member of the State Assoc of Realtors.  In my opinion if a licensee isn’t a card carrying Realtor then that could be a big RED FLAG! A Realtor is held to very high ethical standards and are required to attend continuing education, whereas a non member is not.

#1  Listing Agent vs. Marketing Agent

Don’t settle for a so called listing agent.  Listing agents typically give more effort to securing the listing than they do towards selling it.  Marketing Agents on the other hand are fully committed to marketing your property.  Their efforts are towards getting your home sold for the highest realistic price and under the best terms.  A Marketing Agent will create a marketing strategy for your home creating the optimum competition for your home.

#2  Arbitrator vs. Negotiator

Arbitrators want both sides of the transaction at all costs.  Negotiators will focus their efforts to your best interests.  A negotiator is most valuable to you through the effective way in which they engage the other parties to the transaction on your behalf.

#3  Personal Promotion Specialist vs.  Property Promotion Specialist

You guessed it.  The personal promotion specialist is more interested in promoting themselves than marketing or merchandising your home.  While the Property Promotion Specialist is fully committed to a robust on-line and off-line marketing campaign of your property.

#4  Sells more homes vs.  Sells Homes For More

Selling more homes than the competition doesn’t necessarily mean anything.  Selling Homes For More, I believe would be more valuable to a seller.

#5  Service vs. Skill

While we all want great or exceptional service, this isn’t the whole picture.  You can get great service from your doctor but if he doesn’t know the difference between a cold and cancer.  Would you use him?  Great Marketing Skills combined with exceptional service is what you are looking for.  This is the greatest value to you, the seller.   Great skills bring desired results of selling your home for the highest realistic price, the best terms and in the shortest amount of time.
